Galloway Flooring stocks luxury vinyl tile in a great selection of shapes, styles, colours and textures. The good news on their quality is that every brand has the same solid protective safeguards.
LVT has secured its position as the nation’s favourite and it is here to stay, providing the best investment for the future of your property. If extended lifespan over other flooring options is not enough, the simplicity and ease in keeping it clean is more than adequate to prove perfect flooring for your home.
At Galloway Flooring in Manchester, we thought we would spill the beans on cleaning up the spills and other flooring stains with LVT.

Just as every type of flooring product has its own unique care points, LVT is no different - it is just a lot simpler than traditional flooring care. Unlike hardwood or carpets, LVT does not require any expensive cleaning chemicals or treatments. Most of the time, it is as easy as picking up a mop.
Simple Cleaning Done Right
Regular sweeping across LVT with a non-bristle brush is the simplest way to ensure removal of all dirt, debris and dust in readiness for a simple quick mop of the floor. We recommend that only warm soapy water or an approved floorcare product linked the the vinyl brand be used, so as not to affect your warranty (ask your supplier on the most suitable cleaning products if required).
As little as a single mop each month will keep your floor healthy and shiny, but If you want to go a bit further with a deeper clean for the best appearance, you can use approved floor strippers once or twice a year - but we strongly advise that these be approved by the brand supplier.
You may need to redress it with recommended flooring dressing and ensure that all dirt and marks from the flooring are gone before layering the LVT.
Reduce Risks
There are many ways you can ensure your flooring is maximised in both look and protection. While each brand may have differing care and prevention guidelines, most LVT flooring care tips focus around the same areas.
With LVT being extremely durable and scratch-resistant, deep scratches from sharp chairs, table feet or heavy furniture can affect the design layer. By placing felt pads to the feet of your furniture, you can better protect your flooring from deep scuffs and scarring. It will also help prevent your furniture from shifting across the vinyl tiles.
We stronly recommend that you avoid using any rubber-based waxes or flooring lacquers to buff out any stains. This will affect the wear layer and make the anti-slip design falter. Most stains will come out with a wet wipe without the need for specialist chemical use, which could also deeply affect the design layer.

A Strong Flooring Choice
LVT perfectly imitates all types of flooring from hardwood to stone and cermaics, and is considered the market leading flooring solution for domestic and commercial renovations.
It looks exactly like the real thing. So real that anybody entering your property will not be aware it is LVT. It is the perfect insulator for both sound and heat, which is why many Galloway Flooring customers implement underfloor heating undertheir vinyl flooring for the ultimate combination of style and comfort.
